Pep and Laia, awarded

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola and Atlético de Madrid player Laia Aleixandri were two of the winners of 8th ‘Gala de las Estrellas’ of Catalan football, a ceremony held annually to recognize the best football players and coaches of Catalonia.

The Santpedor coach was awarded for his successes in England and for his last outstanding season winning the four domestic titles: Premier League, Carabao Cup, Community Shield and FA Cup.

The young Atlético de Madrid player was recognised as a the ‘most promising player’, after becoming with only 19 years old a key player in the ‘red and white’ club, which she has won the league title the last two years with. Moreover, he has already been called-up twice with the Spanish National Team.
